Ancient port city, which was established after Alexander the Great defeated Persian Emperor in Yumurtalik town of southern city of Adana, will be transformed into an outdoor museum, Adana Museum Curator Kazim Tosun said. Tosun said that they have launched initiatives to found the outdoor museum in Yumurtalik.
Tosun noted that after they gather historical artefacts, which scattered in various places of Yumurtalik in Ataturk Park, they will take the inventory of the artefacts, and then will open the museum.

He stated that the ancient city in Yumurtalik was founded by Macedonian commanders who were successors of Alexander the Great. "Macedonian commanders founded the city after Alexander the Great defeated Persian Emperor Dara in the last quarter of 4th century B.C.," Tosun added.
