The Seven Hills of Constantinople

New Rome (Constantinople) was built on seven hills like the antique Rome by the emperor Constantine the Great.
At the time of its splendour, the city was shining by its large churches and its sumptuous palaces built at the top of its seven hills. At the Ottoman time, some of these monuments which were destroyed, were replaced by other buildings quite important.
We suggest you to discover the Soliman mosque (3rd hill), the Conqueror (Fatih) mosque (4th hill). On the 5th hill, a visit to the Yavuz Selim mosque and the ruins of the Bonos cistern (from the 4th century). And visits to the Church of the St. Savior in Chora (Kariye museum) and Mihrimah Sultan mosque.
