First Links Golf Course of Mediterranean is In Turkey

The first links golf course of the Mediterranean will be built in Serik town of Antalya by Perry Dye, the third-generation member of U.S. Dye family that designs golf courses around the world.

A links golf course, sometimes referred to as a seaside links is the oldest style of golf course, first developed in Scotland. The word comes from the Scots language and refers to an area of coastal sand dunes, and also sometimes to open parkland.

"This is an important investment for Turkey since it will be among the best 100 golf courses in the world", said Dye, who is actually designing the Lykia World & Links Golf Antalya project.

According to Dye, many golfers will come to Antalya only to play in this course.

Lykia World & Links Golf Antalya will be built on 100 hectares of area, and villas, suits and apart hotel will be constructed on 25 hectares. The facility will have 1,200 bed capacity. The golf course will be built on 75 hectares of area. There will an 18-hole professional golf course, and 9-hole training course.

The hotel will be opened in September, and the golf course in October.
