The European shoreline of the Bosphorus is subject to strict building controls: as a rule, only renovation is allowed. Hence this rebuilding of a timber-clad house that burned down many years ago. The reconstruction was based on aerial views, survey maps, remnants of the original foundations, and column fragments. The structure is reinforced concrete with brick infill.
